ABOUT THE HOUSE
The TreeHouse KP is family owned holiday rental house located high on a tree lined hill on Koh Phangan, Thailand. The house is nestled in the shady canopy of tropical trees which have been selectively trimmed to provide breathtaking views across Chaloklum Bay and out to the Gulf of Thailand. Here on the north-west corner of Koh Phangan our two-bedroom house has the perfect combination of convenience and quiet seclusion. The house is a three-minute drive to Chaloklum Village to the east and Mae Haad Beach to the west, and every room has views to the sea.

LOCATION
Our house is situated on Hin Ngam hill on the north-west corner of the island, about a twenty-minute drive from Thong Sala and the ferry to/from Koh Samui. The location provides stunning views across Chaloklum Bay and a unique balance between seclusion and convenience. A three-minute drive to the west brings you to Koh Maa and the Mae Haad Beach, where you can snorkel directly off the beach over the coral of Koh Phangan’s only National Marine Park. Almost the same distance to the east is Chaloklum Village with restaurants, pubs and convenience stores. Between our house and Chaloklum Village you find Malibu Beach, a great place to relax in the shade with a drink.
HOUSE DETAILS
Our two bedroom, two bathroom house was designed to be efficient with space while still providing a feeling of openness and comfort. A central entry area with a daybed and desk gives the house a sense of arrival while providing flexi-use space (the “Study” can be closed off with folding shutters and doors to be used as an additional child's bedroom).
To the right of the entry are the main bedroom and bathroom. As you turn left and progress down three steps into the open plan kitchen / living area, the views open dramatically to the ocean. The living area connects directly to shaded outdoor areas through folding glazed double-doors. A generous second bedroom with ensuite bathroom is accessed from the deck.

The house has parking; a small plunge-pool; an equipped kitchen (dishes, cutlery, pots, pans and utensils; gas stove top; microwave oven; full-sized fridge / freezer; laundry machine), air conditioning in bedrooms and high-speed wifi.

Access to the house is via a private dirt road - we highly recommend that renters use a 4-wheel drive car when staying at the house. ​

OUR HOUSE
The house was designed to maintain privacy while taking advantage of the views afforded by the Hin Ngam hillside. The main floor of the house has the upper bedroom (with a connected three-piece bathroom), a study that can be converted to an additional single bedroom, and an open plan living area with a fully equipped kitchen and breakfast bar. The focus of the house is the connected indoor/outdoor living area. Folding glazed doors connect the open plan living area to the split level deck, which includes a covered dining area, a shaded built in outdoor lounge, a lower sun deck, and a private plunge pool. A second bedroom with ensuite bathroom is accessed from the deck.

AROUND OUR HOUSE
The property changes with the seasons, usually green and tropical but during hot seasons the grounds can get dry. Birds and butterflies are regular visitors, as are the occasional friendly dogs and cats of our neighbors. Our closest neighbor is barely visible through the trees on the left side of the house. A small bay with a rocky beach can be found below the house – take the concrete stair from the Hin Ngam look-out near the turnoff to our house. Or, just enjoy the view from the deck.
A three minute drive to the west (approx. 1.8km) brings you to Koh Maa and the Mae Haad Beach, where you can snorkel directly off the beach. Between our house and Chaloklum Village you find Malibu Beach (1.6km from our house), a great place to get a light meal or relax in the shade with a drink.

AROUND KOH PHANGAN
You'll arrive at the pier in Thong Sala at the south-west corner of the island. Thong Sala is a typical Thai island town with all the basic provisions, restaurants and shops that you would expect (including 7-11, Tesco, Big C, and a collection of local pharmacies and souvenir shops). Once you get out of the main town Koh Phangan becomes a peaceful rural paradise for you to explore at your leisure.

There are several beaches around the island, each with it's own atmosphere. The island is also dotted with temples and cultural sights, and national parks with hiking trails to waterfalls or other landscape features.

CHALOKLUM VILLAGE
An active fishing community, Chaloklum Village is geographically and atmospherically about as far as you can get from the full moon parties at Haad Rin. With many Thai and expat establishments located on the beachfront, the village is a great place to relax, have a drink and get a good meal while watching the sun set. It’s also a convenient place to book a dive trip or get basic supplies from the small shops and corner pharmacy.
Go to the World’s End and have a great breakfast or lunch while you watch the activity on the pier. Get your provisions at the corner 7-11. Pick up a second-hand book to read on the beach. Enjoy a fresh pizza or a seafood dinner while watching the sun set at a beach side restaurant.
